The global economy is facing new challenges as the US employment numbers unexpectedly declined in July, leading to concerns about the job market's strength.

According to Bloomberg, payrolls decreased by 23,000 following a combined 103,000 downward revision to the May and June figures. The unemployment rate fell to 4.1% due to a decline in labor force participation, while wage growth slowed.

In contrast, Canada's economy added a surprise 75,100 jobs last month, with the unemployment rate hitting its lowest level in two years.

The situation is also concerning for Black mothers with young children, as they are leaving the workforce at an alarming pace. Labor force participation among this demographic has fallen 11.5 percentage points in just three months, dropping to its lowest level in over 30 years.
