Global Investment Surge Drives Growth, Says Fed's Warsh
U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh addressed G20 finance leaders on Monday, highlighting a significant shift in global capital flows. Speaking at the G20 opening plenary session, Warsh characterized the current economic environment as a 'global investment surge.'
This marks a departure from past discussions about a global savings glut that left capital unused due to limited investment opportunities, which were prevalent both before and after the 2008 global financial crisis. According to Warsh, the concept of secular stagnation no longer applies to the current economic environment.
Warsh expressed his enthusiasm for learning more about growth prospects among G20 member economies during the meeting.
