Global Markets Mixed as US Economy Report Raises Stagflation Fears
Global stock markets were mixed on Monday after US stocks pulled back from their all-time high following a weaker-than-expected report on the US economy.
The S&P 500 future edged 0.1% higher, while that for the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 0.2%, according to early European trading data.
In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 index gained 0.7% to 69,220.25 after Japan's economy grew slightly faster than forecast in the April-June quarter, expanding at a 1.1% annual pace.
However, the report also showed private spending and investment staying flat, while export growth slowed.
