Global Markets Rally as Fed Focus Turns to Jackson Hole
Global markets rallied as investors focused on US Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh's speech at the Jackson Hole economic symposium.
The pan-European STOXX 600 rose 0.52 per cent in morning trading, while Britain's FTSE 100 gained 0.17 per cent and Germany's DAX increased by 0.62 per cent.
Japan's Nikkei closed 0.41 per cent higher, with Hong Kong's Hang Seng advancing 0.07 per cent.
In Canada, investors await the release of GDP numbers later in the day, with TSX futures little changed ahead of the announcement.
