Global stock markets rebounded from recent declines on Wednesday, as investors watched for developments in the U.S.-Iran conflict.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 289.55 points, or 0.55%, to 53,059.62, while the S&P 500 increased by 45.54 points, or 0.60%, to 7,677.30.

The Japanese yen surged against the U.S. dollar, gaining 0.92% to 158.72 per dollar, after retracing nearly half of its increases made following a joint intervention by the U.S. and Japan in late July.

U.S. Treasury yields eased from multi-year highs, as investors reassessed their expectations for monetary policy tightening in response to persistent inflation risks.
