Global Markets Show Mixed Results Amid Economic Uncertainty
Global markets experienced mixed results on Monday, with shares in Europe and Asia showing varying levels of growth or decline. The US stock market, however, saw a slight downturn following a weaker-than-expected report on the economy.
The German DAX index was nearly unchanged at 26,429.59, while the CAC 40 in Paris lost 0.1% to 8,630.45. In contrast, Britain's FTSE 100 gained 0.2% to 10,773.91.
Tokyo's Nikkei 225 index saw a significant increase of 0.7% to 69,220.25 after the Japanese government reported a slight improvement in economic growth, with the economy expanding at a 1.1% annual pace. The Shanghai Composite index rose 1.4% to 3,982.65.
The US dollar fell to 158.88 Japanese yen from 159.32 yen, while the euro rose to $1.1611 from $1.1588. Brent crude declined 0.3% to $88.24 per barrel, and US benchmark crude slipped 0.9% to $81.65 per barrel.
