Gold Falls on Strong Dollar and Higher Yields
Gold prices fell on Tuesday as a strong US dollar and higher Treasury yields weighed on bullion, limiting its upward momentum. Spot gold was trading near $4,031.00 an ounce, down 1.09% on the session.
The metal remained above the $4,000 support area despite pressure from currency and interest-rate factors. Silver prices also declined, with spot silver trading near $57.19 an ounce, down 1.89%. The metal failed to reclaim the $58.53 to $59.44 trader-reaction zone.
Market positioning following recent US economic data suggests a less dovish Federal Reserve, which has limited expectations for a clear shift in policy. However, the possibility of a rate hike remains a meaningful risk in market pricing.
