Gold Price on MCX Rises Amid Dollar Weakness, Silver Sees Profit-Booking
The gold price on MCX rose by 0.42% to Rs 1,63,120 per 10 grams at 9:35 AM IST on August 24, 2026.
This increase is attributed to the weakening US dollar and sustained demand for gold as a safe haven amid trade tensions between the US and Canada.
The MCX silver September contracts, however, fell by 0.58% to Rs 2,45,171 per kg, primarily due to profit-booking after last week's rally.
The upcoming release of US inflation data (PCE) and a speech by US Fed Chair Kevin Warsh will be crucial in determining the direction of gold prices.
