Gold Prices Climb as Weakening Dollar Index Boosts Demand
Singapore's gold market saw a modest increase on September 8 as the US dollar weakened. The price of spot gold rose by 0.3% to $4,418.79 per ounce. Meanwhile, US gold futures for December delivery fell 0.3% to $4,464.80.
The decline in the US dollar index, which dropped 0.3%, made dollar-denominated metals less expensive for buyers holding other currencies. This development had a positive impact on the prices of other precious metals as well.
Silver rose by 0.3% to $66.34 per ounce, platinum gained 0.6% to $1,836.97, and palladium increased by 0.9% to $1,401.47.
