Gold Prices Hang in Balance Amid Inflation, Crude Oil, and Geopolitical Tensions
Gold and silver prices are expected to remain sensitive to various global developments this week, including US inflation data, crude oil prices, and geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
Investors will closely watch expectations around the US Federal Reserve's interest-rate path, which could influence bullion markets.
US inflation numbers for August 2026 are set to be released on September 11, with Pranav Mer of EBG - Commodity & Currency Research, JM Financial Services Ltd, saying 'US inflation numbers would be the key trigger for bullion markets amid considerable speculation over the interest rate outlook.'
Last week, gold futures for October delivery fell Rs 3,514 (2.2%) to Rs 1.52 lakh per 10 grams on the Multi Commodity Exchange, while silver declined Rs 4,786 (nearly 2%) to Rs 2.37 lakh per kg.
