Gold prices rebounded on Thursday after a decline in the previous session, as investors await comments from US Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh at the Jackson Hole symposium. Spot gold rose 0.5% to $4,615.27 per ounce, while US gold futures increased by 0.4% to $4,669.50.

The Fed's decision on interest rates remains uncertain, with markets assigning a 36.5% probability of a September rate hike and a 72.7% chance by December. Gold's appeal tends to diminish when interest rates are high, as it pays no interest.

Other metals also saw gains, with spot silver rising 1% to $68.77 and platinum increasing 0.7% to $1,842.88.
