Gold Prices Slip Amid Profit-Taking and Anticipation of Inflation Data
Gold prices dipped on Monday following profit-taking from investors who had driven prices to a seven-week high. This move comes as markets await U.S. inflation data, which will likely influence expectations of future Federal Reserve rate hikes.
The spot price of gold fell by 0.5% to $4,322.28 per ounce, while U.S. Gold Futures declined by 0.4% to $4,381.60. Other precious metals also saw declines, with silver dropping to $63.45 and palladium falling to $1,362.97.
Analysts view the current pullback as a routine market consolidation rather than a trend shift. They maintain that $4,300 remains a strong short-term support level ahead of key CPI and PPI releases.
