Gold Rises as Dollar Eases Ahead of Inflation Data
Gold prices edged higher on Tuesday as the US dollar slipped, making metals more affordable for other currency holders.
The spot gold price rose 0.3 per cent to $4,418.79 per ounce, while US gold futures for December delivery were down 0.3 per cent at $4,464.80.
The US dollar index also fell by 0.3 per cent, which contributed to the increase in gold prices.
The upcoming inflation data on Thursday and Friday will be closely watched as it may influence expectations for the Federal Reserve's next policy move.
