Gold Soars Above $4400 as Inflation Report Looms

Gold has surged to its highest level in two months, breaking above $4000 per ounce ahead of a key inflation report in the United States. The precious metal rose by up to 0.7% on Tuesday, following gains of 3.6% over the previous two sessions. Hebi Chen, an analyst at Vantage Markets, attributed this recovery to 'interlinked factors finally falling into place,' indicating that gold may be transitioning into a new cycle.

The uptick in gold prices comes as traders await the release of the U.S. Consumer Price Index on Wednesday, which is expected to rise by 0.1% in July. A slowdown in price growth could ease inflation concerns for the Federal Reserve, potentially influencing their decision to raise interest rates.

However, rising energy prices and a strong dollar may counteract this trend, putting pressure on the Fed to increase borrowing costs. President Donald Trump's recent demands on Iran and his conversations with Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh have also raised questions about potential interference in monetary policy decisions.
