Gold Soars to Third-Best Week This Year Amid US Treasury Repurchase Announcement
The price of Gold has surged to its third-best week this year, reaching 4662 after settling at just 4432 last week. This marks a significant jump, with Gold already making up 44% of the distance to its projected target of 4959 in just one week.
This rapid increase is attributed to several factors, including the recent announcement by US Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent to repurchase longer-term US debt for shorter duration. This move has sent Gold soaring, with prices leaping as high as +159 points (+3.6%) after the announcement.
Experts point out that the US yield curve's rotation from negative to positive supports lowering the Treasury's potential payout, making Gold more attractive to investors. However, they also caution that this trend may be short-lived, citing the recent deviation of price above its smooth valuation line.
The BEGOS Market Value for Gold is currently depicted as 4167, with some experts warning that the yellow metal may face challenges from upcoming economic metrics and Federal Reserve decisions. Nevertheless, many analysts remain optimistic about Gold's prospects, citing its resilience in the face of uncertainty.
