Gold Stays Steady as Investors Await US Inflation Data

Gold prices held steady on Wednesday after reaching a three-month high in the previous session, as investors waited for key US inflation data to determine the Federal Reserve's interest rate path.

The spot price of gold was little changed at $4,652.39 per ounce as of 0150 GMT, while US gold futures rose by 0.3 percent to $4,709.20.

Other precious metals also saw gains, with silver increasing by 0.7 percent to $69.09 and platinum rising by 0.6 percent to $1,869.22. Palladium firmed by 1.4 percent to $1,345.30.

The US dollar index remained steady at 98.918 in early Asian trading, snapping a three-day winning streak on Tuesday.
