Gold Steadies Amid US-Iran Talks and Fed Rate Expectations

Gold prices have stabilized near $4,100 an ounce on Tuesday as investors await developments in US-Iran talks.

US President Donald Trump's comments that the two countries are engaged in 'good talks' to end the Middle East conflict sent oil prices lower and eased concerns over inflation and interest rate hikes.

However, Trump also warned that the US is prepared to resume strikes against Iran if negotiations falter. The US suspended its attacks on Iran late Friday after nearly two weeks of hostilities, while Tehran halted retaliatory strikes against US bases in neighboring countries.

The Federal Reserve's policy decision this week has investors anticipating a stable interest rate environment for now, with policymakers widely expected to leave rates unchanged. While some traders speculate about a possible rate hike amid renewed inflationary pressures, most expect the next increase to come in September.
