Gold Stuck in Consolidation, Dollar Plummets Against Yen
The gold market has been experiencing volatility due to rising interest rates. Despite the higher rates in the US, gold remains within its consolidation range, with the $4,000 level acting as a floor and the $4,200 level as a ceiling. The 50-week EMA is just above the $4,200 level, and breaking above it could lead to a breakout. On the other hand, if the price drops below $4,000, a bigger decline may occur.
The US dollar has plummeted against the Japanese yen due to the Bank of Japan's intervention in the market. However, there are still buyers willing to purchase dollars, driven by the interest rate differential. The 158¥ level has provided significant support, and the 50-week EMA is situated just below it.
The USD/MXN pair has fallen for the week, with the 17.50 level acting as a barrier. Support lies at 17.20, and traders favor trading this market to the downside due to Mexico's interest rate advantage.
