Gold Stumbles Towards Third Weekly Loss Amid Rate Hike Expectations
Gold prices edged higher on Friday but were headed for a third consecutive weekly fall as expectations of a US rate hike strengthened.
The spot gold price rose by 0.2% to $4,324.79 per ounce at 0020 GMT, while US gold futures for December delivery fell 1% to $4,364.70.
Traders are awaiting the release of US consumer price index data, due at 1230 GMT, which will provide further clues on the Federal Reserve's policy path.
