Gold Surges to Three-Month High Ahead of Inflation Data and Fed Speech
Gold prices have surged to their highest levels in more than three months on Monday, with a subdued dollar providing support. This comes ahead of key US inflation data and a speech by Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh.
The spot gold price rose 0.5% to $4,627.42 per ounce as of 0155 GMT, marking its highest level since May 15. The metal gained more than 5% last week.
The dollar's weakness is a key factor behind the rise in gold prices. Investors are looking ahead to US inflation data and Warsh's speech for guidance on monetary policy.
