Gold prices inched up on Wednesday due to a softer US dollar, while investors await key US jobs data for clues on the Federal Reserve's next monetary policy move.

The spot gold price rose 0.1% to $4,081.09 per ounce as of 0040 GMT, while US gold futures fell 0.4% to $4,137.20.

The US dollar remained subdued, making dollar-priced gold more attractive to holders of other currencies.
