Goolsbee Sees Inflation Improving with Shocks Behind
The Chicago Fed President Austan Goolsbee believes that inflation is improving as temporary shocks fade away. He noted that many inflation drivers came from tariffs and oil, which were initially expected to cause a one-time increase.
Goolsbee emphasized that if these shocks can be left in the past, inflation can move towards the Federal Reserve's 2% goal. The current disinflation process is evolving, he said.
The US economy remains stable, according to Goolsbee. He highlighted that recent inflation figures have improved slightly, showing a hopeful trend.
