Greek industrial companies are at the forefront of artificial intelligence adoption in Europe. According to research by the European Central Bank, seven out of ten Greek firms reported using AI, with a significant 66% of industrial companies with at least 50 employees having invested in the technology.

This makes Greece stand out among the 12 eurozone countries surveyed, with a higher rate of adoption than any other nation. The research also found that improving core operations and administrative processes was the main reason for adopting AI, while shortages of relevant skills were identified as the leading obstacle.

The study, based on responses from around 6,000 firms, found no evidence so far of widespread job losses linked to AI. In fact, companies making substantial use of the technology were more likely to expect stronger turnover and investment growth, although the authors cautioned that longer-term employment effects remained uncertain.
