The Greek economy has shown resilience in recent months despite the ongoing crisis in the Middle East. According to a report from Eurobank, stronger retail sales, easing inflation, and solid business lending have contributed to growth.

Retail sales rebounded in May with a 3.4% month-on-month increase, reversing declines of 1.5% in April and 0.4% in March. Annual growth reached 6.5%, driven by a weak comparison base in May 2025.

Growth was broad-based across the retail sector, with higher sales recorded in various categories including supermarkets, department stores, fuel, food, and beverages.
