Greek Firms Lead Eurozone in AI Adoption

Greek companies are among the most aggressive adopters of artificial intelligence in the eurozone. A study by the European Central Bank found that seven out of ten firms surveyed use AI at least occasionally, a rate roughly matching the average across the 12 countries examined.

The research, which drew on responses from around 6,000 businesses, also revealed that Greek industrial companies with at least 50 employees are leading the charge. A staggering two-thirds (66%) of these firms had invested in AI by June 2025, the highest rate recorded among the countries surveyed.

While the adoption of AI has not yet led to widespread job losses, companies making substantial use of the technology did report expecting stronger turnover and investment growth. However, the long-term employment effects remain uncertain, according to the authors.
