Greek Inflation Slows to 3.4%, Easing Pressure on Households

Greece's annual inflation rate slowed to 3.4% in July from 4.4% in June, according to the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT). This decrease marks the second consecutive month of slowing inflation and is a positive development for households and businesses.

The slowdown in inflation can be attributed to lower energy costs and a stabilization in food prices, although services inflation remains relatively high. Greece's inflation rate is broadly in line with the eurozone average, which also eased in July.

The European Central Bank (ECB) has signaled a data-dependent approach to monetary policy, and the recent moderation in price pressures across the bloc could influence its decision at the September meeting.
