Greens Senator Barbara Pocock Rules Out Re-election Amid Partner's Brain Cancer Diagnosis
Greens Senator Barbara Pocock has announced she won't seek re-election in 2028 due to her partner's brain cancer diagnosis.
Pocock, a former lecturer at the University of Adelaide and Reserve Bank of Australia employee, made the decision after much consideration.
In a statement, she said running for a second term was 'not right' given her family situation.
Pocock remains committed to her work on climate and environmental justice and has several ongoing projects, including holding KPMG accountable and reforming big four firms.
