Hammack's Hawkish Stance Sparks Rate Hikes Fears

Cleveland Federal Reserve President Beth Hammack has once again called for immediate U.S. interest rate increases, putting the crypto market and stocks on high alert.

Hammack argued that current borrowing conditions do not sufficiently restrain economic activity, as inflation remains above the Federal Reserve's 2% target.

The July PPI rose 4.7% annually, below the 4.9% forecast and down from 5.5% in June, providing a contrasting message to policymakers and markets.

Beth Hammack believes that businesses continue to identify growth opportunities without feeling substantial pressure from current interest rates, indicating that monetary policy needs additional restraint to reduce inflation towards the Federal Reserve's objective.
