Helcim Surges to $250M Valuation After Raising $53 Million Amidst Canadian Payments Shift
Calgary-based Helcim has secured $53 million in fresh financing as it seeks to capitalize on changes within Canada's payments infrastructure.
The Series C round was led by the Business Development Bank of Canada's Growth Venture Fund, with participation from other investors including Curql Collective and Gold House Ventures.
Helmim now boasts a valuation of $250 million CAD, up significantly from its previous valuation of $97 million after its Series B round two years ago.
The company's growth has been driven by an increase in inbound calls following the sale of Moneris to a US private equity firm, with Helcim CEO Nicolas Beique stating that 'there's huge momentum in the business right now.'
