New Zealand's government has announced regulatory relief for the hospitality industry, which was hit hard by COVID-19 and 'dumb rules'.

Minister for Regulation David Seymour said that the sector needs to be freed from red tape to bounce back.

The Ministry for Regulation's Hospitality Sector Review identified several problems with how the sector was regulated, including multiple information requests, inefficient processes, and high fees.

Upston says New Zealand's hospitality sector plays a vital role in the economy, supporting jobs, local communities, and international visitors.
