iFOREX Warns Low Market Volatility, Currency Intervention Hit Trading Income
iFOREX Financial Trading Holdings Ltd (LON:IFRX) has released an update on its trading performance for the first half of 2026. The company reported good underlying progress in the six months ended June 30, but noted the ongoing impact of a strong Israeli Shekel against the US Dollar.
However, trading has been weaker than anticipated since July, with August seeing extremely low market volatility. In fact, full-month trading income for July was around $720,000, compared to $3.1 million in July 2025.
The main driver of this decline was a joint currency intervention by the Japanese Ministry of Finance and the US Treasury on July 30-31, which led to a sharp appreciation of the Japanese Yen against the US Dollar. This had a negative effect on iFOREX's net client exposure.
As a result, the company now expects its Adjusted EBITDA for FY 2026 to be in the range of $0.5 million to $2.5 million. Despite this setback, iFOREX remains confident in its medium- and long-term outlook, citing continued KPI momentum and the delivery of its strategic plan.
