India, New Zealand Ink Free Trade Deal to Boost Bilateral Trade
India and New Zealand are set to sign a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in New Delhi tomorrow, according to Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. The agreement aims to double bilateral trade to five billion dollars over the next five years.
Goyal made the announcement during his visit to the Taj Mahal in Agra with New Zealand's Minister for Trade and Investment, Todd McClay. He highlighted the economic benefits of the FTA, saying it will significantly improve market access for Indian goods and boost trade opportunities.
The minister also met local business owners in Agra from sectors such as leather, textiles, handloom, handicrafts, carpets, and spices, praising their work. Goyal said that Agra will play an important role in India's future exports, with enhanced market access and stronger trade ties with New Zealand supporting the growth of the city's industrial sector.
