Indices Rise Slightly Following Earnings Releases
Indices rose slightly following earnings releases, with U.S. equity index futures up after the latest quarterly results. The S&P 500 was down 0.02%, while the Dow and Nasdaq were little changed.
Nvidia shares closed lower before extending trading where it eventually moved higher due to beating on earnings per share ($2.22 vs $2.1 expectations) and revenue, with a 70% revenue growth expected in fiscal 2028. CrowdStrike jumped after its beat on earnings and revenue thanks to its 'Mythos moment', while Salesforce surged following its slight beat on revenue and decent guidance.
Oil prices partially recovered off recent lows to get back above $81 due to an agreement between Iran and Oman regarding revenue from the Strait of Hormuz. Commodities saw gold/silver ratio below 67, with the next key catalyst tomorrow's Fed Chairman Warsh speech.
