The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) fell 0.17 percent to 6,185.80 on July 27, 2026, ahead of the US Federal Reserve's meeting. The LQ45 Index, a group of 45 blue-chip stocks, declined 0.34 percent to 612.72. Hendra Wardana, Founder of Republik Investor, expects the JCI to trend lower with support at 6,060 and resistance at 6,300.

The decline in crude oil prices could ease concerns about a spike in global inflation, which would reduce pressure on the central bank's interest rate policy. Weakening oil prices also have the potential to provide positive sentiment for domestic inflation, the trade balance, and the stability of the rupiah exchange rate.

Market players will be closely monitoring the US Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting on July 28-29, 2026, to determine the direction of its benchmark interest rate policy. The appointment of Senior Deputy Governor Destry Damayanti as Acting Governor of Bank Indonesia signals that monetary policy continuity remains intact.
