Inflation Expectations Rise Across Euro Area
The Eurostat office released flash estimates for August 2026 showing that euro area annual inflation is expected to be 3.3%.
This figure marks an increase from 2.9% in July, and energy prices are projected to contribute the most to this rise with a 14.3% annual rate in August compared to 10.3% in July.
In related news, ECB's Isabel Schnabel's colleague, Joachim Kocher, noted that upside risks for Euro-Area inflation have increased lately.
