Iran Trade Plummets as US Blockade Bites
Iran's trade has taken a significant hit due to sanctions and the US naval blockade. President Masoud Pezeshkian reported that imports and exports have declined by 25-35%, with imports taking an even bigger hit.
Pezeshkian dismissed claims that sanctions had no impact on Iran, saying 'The statement that sanctions have no impact is not in line with these facts.'
In response to the economic pressure, Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has called for greater economic independence and reduced reliance on the US dollar. He also emphasized the importance of strengthening economic growth and production.
