Iraq Central Bank Denies Dollar Rate Change Amid Social Media Claims
The Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) has denied changing the official US dollar exchange rate. Social media claims had suggested that deposits would be priced at 1,460 dinars per dollar starting September 6.
Haider Ghazi, CBI's media director, dismissed these reports as an attempt to destabilize the economy and the exchange rate.
The bank's latest published data, dated September 3, list the US dollar at 1,310 dinars. This contradicts the claims circulating on social media.
