Jackson Hole Summit Brings Attention to Treasury Yields
Treasury yields were largely unchanged on Thursday as investors waited for key economic insights from Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh at the Jackson Hole summit.
The benchmark 10-year Treasury note rose less than 1 basis point to 4.672%, while the 30-year Treasury bond yield was up by just under a basis point to 5.19%. The 2-year Treasury note saw its yield increase by less than a basis point to 4.232%.
The market's anticipation of Warsh's speech at Jackson Hole, which starts on Friday, is high as investors seek more information about his views on the economy and monetary policy. The lack of forward guidance from the chairman means that markets may react strongly to any perceived shifts in his stance.
