Japan Carmakers Pin Hopes on Stable Yen Through 2027
Japan's carmakers are looking to steady sales and profits despite the ongoing volatility in the currency market. Toyota Motor Corp., Nissan Motor Co., and others have based their forecasts on the yen remaining near its current levels against the US dollar for the fiscal year through March 2027.
The companies issued their latest round of results just as the US stepped in to help the Japanese currency from weakening further. According to their forecasts, the yen will trade between ¥150 and ¥160 against the dollar for the next year.
As of Thursday, the yen was trading at around ¥157.7, which is within the range predicted by the carmakers. This stability in the currency market could have a positive impact on the companies' sales and profits.
