Japan Real Wages Rise 2.4% for Seventh Straight Month
Japan's real wages rose for the seventh consecutive month in July, increasing by 2.4 percent from a year earlier, according to government data released on Tuesday.
The nominal wage, or average monthly cash earnings per worker including base salary and overtime pay, grew by 4.7 percent to 436,401 yen (approximately $2,830 USD), marking the sixth straight month of growth exceeding 3 percent.
This significant increase in wages is attributed to a rise in special earnings, which increased by 6.3 percent to 134,819 yen. This year's robust wage negotiations are believed to have driven these higher pay rates.
