Japan Seeks Record-Breaking Budget Amid Aging Population Concerns
The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare is seeking a record-breaking 36.5 trillion yen in its general-account budget request for fiscal year 2027.
This represents an increase of 4.4% from the initial budget level of fiscal year 2026.
The ministry aims to focus on projects promoting drug discovery and advanced medical care, including launching a support program for companies developing innovative medicines.
