Japan Sees Record Foreign Arrivals as South Koreans Flock Amid Yen Weakness
South Korean tourists are flocking to Japan in record numbers as the yen's weakness draws visitors from across Asia. In July, nearly 900,000 South Koreans visited Japan, a 31.9% year-on-year increase.
The surge in foreign arrivals pushed total tourist numbers in Japan to a record high of 3,442,100 in July, up just 0.1% from the same month last year.
However, Chinese tourists declined sharply, falling 56.1% to 428,200, marking an eighth consecutive month of decline.
