Japan Social Security Benefits Rise 2 Percent to 138 Trillion Yen
The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare reported that social security benefits for fiscal year 2024 increased by 2% to 138.3 trillion yen.
This marks a rise in social security benefits for the first time in three years, attributed to an aging population and higher prices.
Pension benefits accounted for the largest portion of the total, with a 2.6% increase to 57.8 trillion yen.
