Japan Unleashes Record Forex Intervention to Support Yen

On April 30th, Japan's Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Japan engaged in a massive foreign exchange intervention, spending a record 6.28 trillion yen to prop up their currency.

The intervention aimed to stabilize the yen, which had fallen to around 160.7 yen per dollar due to market volatility.

This significant move temporarily boosted the yen's value to approximately 155 yen per dollar, but it later resumed its downward trend.
