Japanese Woman Returns to Full-Time Work After Semi-Retirement Plans Unravel
A Japanese woman named Komoe, who had been living a semi-retired lifestyle since the age of 31, has decided to return to full-time employment due to rising living costs.
Komoe had accumulated approximately RM374,000 (15 million yen) in assets before quitting her job and switching to part-time work.
She initially planned to survive on a monthly income of around RM2,496 (100,000 yen), which she earned from working part-time while keeping her expenses low.
However, after four years, Komoe's carefully planned budget collapsed due to increasing costs, and she found herself struggling to make ends meet.
Komoe eventually realized that continuing in this way could mean working until her 70s or even 80s, which led her to decide on returning to full-time employment at the age of 35.
