Japan's 10-year government bond yield has reached its highest level in over a month, climbing to around 2.86% on Thursday.

The increase comes as markets assess the likelihood of a Bank of Japan interest rate hike in September due to growing inflation pressures.

Policymakers have called for a stronger response to mounting cost pressures, with producer prices in Japan continuing to rise at an elevated pace in July.

Producer inflation rose 7.2% in July, easing slightly from the previous month's high of 7.3%, which was the highest level since March 2023.
