Japan's Finance Minister Heads to G20 Meeting Amid Yen Debate

Japan's Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama will attend next week's G20 finance leaders meeting in Asheville, North Carolina. She aims to contribute to discussions on the global economy and international finance.

Katayama was speaking after a regular cabinet meeting. Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda is also expected to attend the gathering.

The markets are focusing on whether Katayama will meet with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who said he looks forward to meeting Ueda in Asheville.
