Japan's Rent Guarantee Market Set for Massive Expansion
The Japanese rent guarantee market is expected to reach 365.7 billion yen by fiscal 2030, according to a study released by Yano Research Institute. The commercial segment of this market is growing faster than the residential one and is taking on a larger role in overall expansion.
In fiscal 2026, the commercial segment is forecast to grow to 37.9 billion yen, after expanding 17.1% in fiscal 2025. By fiscal 2030, it's expected to exceed 60 billion yen.
The market's growth has been supported by demographic and social changes, including an increase in single-person households, elderly households, and foreign residents. Rent guarantee companies are investing in AI and digital transformation to improve operating efficiency and strengthen their business foundations through mergers and acquisitions.
