Jobs Report Due Out Friday: What Economists Are Expecting
The latest jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) is due out on Friday morning, and economists expect it to show that the U.S. added 85,000 new jobs in July.
The June jobs report showed a disappointing 57,000 new jobs, well below the expected 115,000.
Economists point out that this was partly due to a decrease in employment at hotels and food service, likely related to changes in staff planning for World Cup attendees.
Wells Fargo economists predict nonfarm payroll growth averaging 92K over the first half of the year, with a similar increase expected in July.
