JPMorgan Sees S&P 500 Hitting 8,000 as AI-Driven Growth Boosts Stocks
JPMorgan has upgraded its year-end target for the S&P 500 to 8,000 points, a 3.1% increase from the recent close of 7,757.64. This revised forecast reflects the bank's strategists' continued optimism about corporate earnings and AI-related revenue driving growth in Big Tech.
The move puts JPMorgan in agreement with at least seven other brokerages that share the same target for the benchmark index by the end of 2026. The bank's bullish case is built on two main pillars: stronger-than-expected corporate earnings and AI infrastructure spending translating into actual revenue growth, not just capex line items.
JPMorgan's target trajectory shows increasing confidence in the market, with a baseline forecast of 7,500 in late 2025 gradually rising to 8,000. The bank also expects rate cuts from the Federal Reserve to provide an additional boost to equities.
